JUAN LUNA SHRINE
The Juan Luna Shrine, nestled in Badoc, Ilocos Norte, is a remarkable tribute to the life and legacy of Juan Luna, one of the Philippines’ most celebrated painters and a passionate nationalist. This charming two-story house, built in the traditional late 19th-century style, was lovingly reconstructed after a fire in 1861, using clay bricks and durable molave wood. Today, it is a museum filled with personal memorabilia, family pictures, and exquisite prints of some of Juan Luna's renowned works, such as the Spoliarium. The second floor is almost intact, containing a homey living room, bedroom, and a small chapel, all nicely furnished to bring back memories of a bygone era. The shrine, therefore, is a homage not only to Juan Luna but also to his brother, Antonio Luna, one of the fierce generals who fought during the Philippine-American War. The shrine serves as a National Historical Landmark where students, enthusiasts of history, and visitors can be guided through greater understanding of the Filipino's heritage. It is also a warm reminder of how the Luna family impacted the nation in the quest for independence.

LA VIRGEN MILAGROSA DE BADOC
La Virgen Milagrosa de Badoc is a cherished figure in the local community, believed to have arrived from Japan around 1600, sent adrift by missionaries fleeing persecution. Local fishermen discovered the statue and recognized its significance, leading to the construction of the La Virgen Milagrosa Chapel, which is designed to resemble an upturned boat to honor her maritime journey. Adorned with bamboo fittings and sea-inspired decorations, the chapel serves as a vibrant center of devotion, drawing pilgrims and visitors who come to seek her intercession and celebrate their faith, especially during feast days.
